Lee sent this picture from today looking north into Jordan Bay.
And Steve Madden and Ramblin Roger sailed it today and found a healed pressure ridge, or maybe an ice junction, about 3/4 mile from the pits. A skater they met there drilled a few holes on the other side of the ridge and found 2″. On the thick side of the ridge there was 3-5″ reported. Sail heads up!
Awesome Ice! I am the skater referenced here and eventually crossed the pressure ridge (safe passages are available on the edge on either side.) The ice was 1.5 to 2.5 on the thin side, which should thicken up. The ice on the other side was remarkably clear. Happy Sailing!
