Our host at The Bunker Inn, Tim McCabe was so thoroughly enchanted from watching the landsailing regatta a few weeks ago and talking with everyone that he found himself a pipe boat. He hadn’t sailed anything since his teenage years when he messed about for a bit with a Turnabout.

The day his sailing instructor chose to send him out might have been a bit much, 12-15 with gusts, but he was easy on the sheet and spent a couple of happy hours getting around the course. He parked his new yacht in the hangar, fully rigged of course, where she’s ready to go for Tim and his buddies at a moment’s notice.

So a seed has been planted. Tim reports that people are already booking rooms for the September regatta. He’s not sure he’ll be up to speed by then, but will give it his best shot!
