Loring Landsailing Update

Just a couple of things as we head down the home stretch to five fabulous days of land yachting it Loring. Our beloved hangar has been rented out, so we won’t be using it this time. We have arranged for a big tent instead. It will be at the west end of those two hangars, near the bathroom buildings. Can’t miss it; it will be set up either late Wednesday or first thing Thursday.

Wednesday, September 8 has been added to the schedule. There will be scratch racing, touring, the usual fun. If Thursday turns out to be a perfect day for racing we might try to get a few in provided there are enough yachts.

Here’s the link to the site where we have the roster and where the race results will be tabulated and posted. Thanks to Deb Whitehorse and Ann Foeller for organizing this.

Got Wheels?

These guys only have a little over a month to invent wheels and get the Pterodactyl Flyer dialed in for Loring Landsailing September 8-12. Like last time, there will be two classes: BloKart and Unlimited. The contingent from Wisconsin will be back, as well as the Jersey Boys. In addition to the full schedule of course racing there will be touring races and social events in the evenings.

Scroll down a few posts for all the nitty gritty details.

He now begins the long coast down to ice making season, a mere five months away. In case you’re thinking of building an iceboat, it’s time to get started!

More Details on Fall Regatta

A couple of us sailed at Loring yesterday, finding more routes through and around the flightline. Squalls blew through between full sun, chasing us back to the pits seeking shelter from the storm. It’s such an amazing place to sail land yachts, so if you’re on the fence about coming to the Fall Regatta I can assure you that if you come, you won’t regret it. Sign up soon! The gang from Wisconsin is coming back, as are the Jersey Boys. Jeff Kent and Chad Adkins have a top secret land sailor in the works, and we’re hoping the Mini Skeeter fleet will grow.

With that in mind, here are a couple of pdf’s with all you need to know, and then some. It’s the same material from the previous post in a pdf format. Go to the site for the sign-up sheet.
