Tentative Regatta This Weekend

Just a heads up for now, but we’ll confirm it Thursday by noon. Lake Abenakis is only 1 x 1/2 mile, but it it has ice. Two and a half inches yesterday. Wintery mix on and off for the next day or so, and then the temps drop hard on Thursday night into Friday and remain below freezing all weekend. Winds at this point look perfect: 8-12 WNW. Even if we have to lay a close-reach/deep reach course we will. Can’t be too picky with decorum in our situation.

The lake is in Ste. Aurelie, about 45 minutes from the border crossing near Jackman, ME.

The stern steerer buried in the barn has been extracted, and she is a beauty:

More on her later…
