Official minutes will follow at some point; Secretary Rindlaub is preparing his new boat for an offshore passage from South Carolina to Maine just now. Thanks to Larry Mazoway for stepping in as secretary today. About fifteen iceboaters showed. Rob Dmitrieff brough a photo from 1928 showing a rotor powered stern steerer on Androscoggin Lake. Noboby knew exatcly how they work, but the point was made that perhaps there is a reason they didn’t catch on.
The Warner St. Clair Iceboat Appreciation Trophy was presented to ace ice scout Bob Lombardo. He’s always willing to skate the plate and send good photos and accurate reports. Thanks Bob!
Milo Fleming, last years recipient, presents Bob Lombardo with the trophy.
We discussed the fine points of making a Hardway attempt, communication within the club, and our endless search for a reliable web cam on Damariscotta Lake.
Treasurer Gagnon and Secretary Rindlaub were presented with club jackets for their tireless work running the club’s business.
Another fine potluck followed, with a great selection of stews, salads and desserts. Thanks to all who brought such great food. And thanks to Camp Kieve for hosting us and opening up the great hall, and even making a pot of fresh coffee for us!
